Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creation and execution of test cases to verify the behavior of mobile devices conform to the specifications.
  • Development of test cases for new features and maintain test plans.
  • Work with R&D closely for escalated issues and drive for solutions in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with Technical Account Managers to ensure on-time lab entry and carrier approval.
  • Maintain and manage testing schedule for project deliverables.
  • Able to lead and guide test engineers for timely completion of test execution.
  • Able to do risk analysis for management review.
  • Attend weekly R&D project meetings.
  • Generate test status report and issue status reports.
  • Manage issues reported by Carriers, Technical Account Managers, Quality Managers, and Customer Care Managers.
  • Facilitate and coordinate with 3rd party labs on scheduling and test sample submission.
  • Participate in interoperability testing (IOT) which involves the testing the handsets in different network vendors lab setups.
  • Be the escalation point and prepare to mentor other testers in the team.
  • Up to 40% travel within US/Canada required; some international travel may be needed.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree or higher, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5-10 years of experiences in testing cellular technologies (GSM/GPRS/UMTS/LTE or CDMA/1xRTT/EvDO, etc…) and/or mobile devices.
  • Solid understanding of wireless network concepts, roaming partnerships, frequency bands, handoffs.
  • Strong experience in lab testing on different chipset platforms.
  • Strong experience in testing Android OS handsets and tablets.
  • Have experiences in testing hot spots devices and data cards.
  • Deep understanding and experiences with T1 carrier test requirements and process.
  • Have experience in field testing using Metrico equipment and have the ability to analyze the test results.
  • Have testing experiences with other OEMs.
  • Have scripting and software programming experience is a plus.
  • Familiar with software development life cycle and associated testing methodologies.
  • Excellent ability and methodology to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues.
  • Ability to retain composure under stressful conditions and effective communication with a wide array of functional groups for a quick resolution turnaround time.
  • Timely delivery and completion of projects.
  • Self-motivated and energetic.
  • Team player that enjoys working with other technical resources and project members.
  • Fluent computer operation skills, including data compilation and reporting (Microsoft Office, Powerpoint, Microsoft Project).
