Our client is seeking to fill a key role of Mobile Device Test Engineer. They are looking for an eager individual who likes the excitement of a growing business in the wireless industry.
The ideal candidate will have experience testing mobile device software.
They need someone with the experience, dedication, positive attitude and commitment to join their North America region. This role reports directly to Validation Team Lead.
Responsibilities:
Execute and document AT&T 10776, Tracfone OCTP, T-mobile customer acceptance, and internally developed test cases
Execute and document FOTA tests battery testing, stability, application testing, and Metrico drive testing using Datum and Nomad tools
Report handset and tablet defects with detailed exactness in error databases, email correspondence, IM discussions, and in meetings
Work with R&D teams to debug device software issues and take ownership of the full life cycle of defects
Manage and investigate issues reported by carriers, Technical Account Managers, Quality Managers, and Customer Care Managers, and other Test Engineers
Execute and manage device stability testing including creating test environments and modifying automation scripts
Organize your team’s priorities to align with the customer’s expectations working as a Subject Matter Expert on various device features and applications
Qualifications:
Two to four years of experience testing handsets and tablets using Android OS with focus on applications, UI testing, and/or field testing.
Experience in executing Spirent carrier test plans using Nomad and Datum
Basic Knowledge of wireless protocols (GSM/GPRS/UMTS/LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, CDMA//EvDO, etc…)
BS degree or higher, preferably in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. Equivalent education and work experience considered.
Experience making software updates to devices
Experience using QXDM and other trace tools to capture logs of device behavior
Excellent English written communication skills
Experienced using Quality Center, Bugzilla, and other databases of test case results and defects
High level of general knowledge of various mobile OS
Three years of experience in one or more of the key test areas: FOTA, stability, Metrico tools
Aptitude and methodology to debug and identify the root cause of technical issues
Programming skill and experience (C, C++, Python) is a plus
