Job Description:

Our client is currently seeking a key role of Quality Engineer. They are looking for an eager individual that likes the excitement of a growing business in the wireless industry.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise and experience in the mobile industry. Focusing on Design Concept through Commercial Launch, EWP, Field Return Rate to End-of-Life; plans, conducts and manages quality activities related to product quality.

They need someone with the experience, dedication, positive attitude and commitment to join their North America region.

Duties:

  • Manage product quality specifications and requirements for North America
  • Prepare and manage pre-FAI, FAI and all other product related inspections
  • Act as a representative of the quality team towards customers and internal teams (CTS and project teams)
  • Participate in all DR (Decision Reviews) through project lifecycle as quality representative; Design Concept to End of Life.
  • Be main point of contact for all product quality related topics
  • Maintain and improve internal processes and procedures related to product quality
  • Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provide recommended design changes or process improvements to management
  • Prepare reports to communicate involvement and outcomes of quality activities
  • Develop, maintain and apply quality requirements and standards for the development of new products
  • Work closely with production to design, implement and improve methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection prior to product launch to mitigate mass production risks
  • Organize, Define, Manage and Execute EWP activities for all NA Carriers.
  • Provide and review EWP reports with customers and manage all action items to closure
  • Work closely with reverse logistics on field return data, RCA/CAP
  • Drive local FLFA, root cause analysis, corrective action and 8D report generation for all customer quality issues. Communicate preliminary findings and 8D report to customer for agreed closure.
  • Communicate and work closely with CC and reverse logistics on field return data.
  • Ensure lessons learned are integrated into new projects NPI activities
  • Perform all other duties as required related to position

Experience/Qualifications:

  • 3 years minimum Product quality experience in the mobile industry – preferably working with Tier 1 carriers
  • Knowledge and experience with the development lifecycle and certification process for mobile devices
  • Knowledge of the theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control
  • Knowledge of inspection control methods
  • An understanding of the manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of quality systems and the ability to apply that knowledge to customer requirements
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, PPT, Word and QA Software applications
  • Must be ambitious, autonomous, self-motivated and possess excellent interpersonal skills and integrity\
  • Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally (up to 50%)
